Microsoft PowerPoint offers numerous tools to achieve that and this tutorial will teach you a distinct animation: The Spinning Globe. The advantage of this kind of technique is that it is rarely used and will demonstrate that you have advanced skills in presentations.
In addition, the Spinning Globe can be used in several themes related to any international topic, worldwide business and, even, human sciences matters such as globalization.

That is the result we are going to achieve in the final of this tutorial:

We are using a Galaxy background, however, you may use anyone of your preference and the result will be similar.
The first step is to insert a blue background on the slide. In other worlds, you will change the original white colour of the slide to blue.
- Go to Design Tab.

- In the Design Tab, click on Format Background.
3)The Format Background table will appear beside the slide.

Keep the option “Solid Fill” and press the Fill Colour Button.

Apply the colour Blue Accent 1, Lighter 40% (Fifth column, third row)

The original slide´s white colour is converted to blue. This is going to help to set an blue effect to our globe latter.

- Now, let´s create a circle. Go to Insert Tab.

- Press “Shapes”.
- A tab with numerous options of shapes will appear: choose the circle.

The circle option can be found on “Recently Used Shapes” or “Basic Shapes”.

- A Cross sign will come out. That is the tool used to create shapes as well as resize it.

- Press, simultaneously, SHIFT and LEFT BUTTON of the Mouse to create the circle and regulate the size of your preference.
This command provides increasing and decreasing shapes in proportional sizes, creating perfect figures.

- Now duplicate the circle by using the procedure bellow:
Press the circle.
Notice that a square with white circles will show up.

Pressing the LEFT BUTTON of the mouse, hold CRTL and drag to any direction you want. A duplicate of this shape will emerge.

Leave the circle in the slide. It will be used latter.
- Insert a picture of a Galaxy.
You have 2 paths: searching in any site of your preference and, after, copying and pasting it on the slide or use PowerPoint application to do both.
The second method is more professional and more efficient and is going to be presented for you.
Go to Insert Table and press Online Pictures.

A new tab will come up, showing the option “Bing Image Search”.
Type “galaxy” in the blank space and press ENTER.

A display with several images will be presented. You may scroll down or up to choose one of your preference.

After choosing, click on the image and press the Insert Button.

The image is inserted within the slide. Resize it to fill the whole slide.

With the image selected, RIGHT CLICK the image.
A bar with option will be displayed. Click on “Send to Back” and after “Send to Back” again.

This command will move the image behind the circles.

- Position the circle on spot, on the slide, that you plan to set the Spinning Globe. In this case, it will be the right up corner of the slide.

- Now, we are going to subtract the circle from the galaxy image.
Select the Galaxy image and the circle.

Search Merge Shapes.

Notice the colour of the top circle became lighter.
It happens because, this circle was cut from the Galaxy image, therefore this space is Blue Background applied in the begging of the Tutorial.

- Insert a square.
Remember the procedure of Step 5: Insert Tab > Shapes > Rectangle.
Choose the first option of the group or Rectangles.

Create a square bigger than the circle. Press, simultaneously, the LEFT BUTOM of the mouse and CTRL to size it in a perfect shape.

- Let´s configure the square´s fill to start building the Globe.
Select the square and RIGHT CLICK it.
A Drop List will appear.
Press Format Shape.

The Format Shape Tab will appear on the left side of the slide.
First, in the Line Tab, choose” No Line”.
Second, in the Fill Tab, choose “Gradient Fill”.

After pressing “Gradient Fill”, the colours of the square will change and more options, in the Format Shape Tab, will come up.
These applications be used the set colours of the square.
This step is very important because is one of basis of the Globe.

If necessary, resize the square. It is important that it is bigger then the circle, but not too much.

- Now, you will set the Gradient Stops of a circle.
Remember the second circle that was made in Step 8, by duplicating the first? Now it is time to use it.
We are going to configure the its Gradient Stops very similarly to the previous Step.
First, drag the square away from the circle. It will be returned latter.

- The next procedure is to insert a map image, repeating the same procedure of the Step 10.
SMART TIP: When you´ll need to apply images in coloured background, use PNG format.
Generally, PNG Format presents littles squares within the image. It means that the figure can be applied in any background that will show only the figure. No blank spaces.

Position the World Map in the blue circle and resize it to fit in this space (remember that it was a circle´s shape that was subtracted from the Galaxy Background).

The next step is the duplicate the World Map.
Select the World Map.
Press the LEFT BUTTON of the mouse, while holding CTRL, and drag to the right.

The next step is change the configuration of the effect.
In Animation Tab, press Animation Pane.
